worked better than expected in our application
Had one of my technicians install it, and the installation went smoothly. The reciever has better range than similar reciever that we had installed by a vendor at another facility
Increased my range significatly over the 1090
Hi all,
I used a multicode 1090 for about 2 years and over time it seems like my range dropped to near point blank range. I bought a new transmitter and that helped a little but I was frustrated by the lack of range. I used to work at a gate store so I knew a little about these things. Some of the 1090's we installed had good performance so I don't want to talk bad about all of them so I guess I just had bad luck. I decided to try the 1099 out of frustration and curiosity and wow I can be down the street and my gate opens. If the remote is pointed the wrong way I have to be at the driveway entrance (long driveway) but that is still good enough for me. I am satisfied by my purchase and I just wanted to say thanks and encourage others and to say the extra money was worth it. My only complaint is the length of coaxial cable supplied with the kit. It is a little short at 3 feet in my opinion. I wish it was double but that may not help range much more.
