Fixed issue with remotes not working
Both our remotes stopped working at the same time for our Chamberlain garage opener (model 41A5021-1C) and replacing it with this did the trick. It only required a screwdriver.

We also plan on installing one of these Chamberlain Liftmaster 990LM Surge Protector since I think a surge is likely what did the damage.

Just I needed
I have a Liftmaster Security+ system and the unit would not respond to any remote controls. It took me less than 10mins to replace the board (4 screws, wire harness, and screw on connections for wired door opener) and it was up an running perfect. Just in case I added single unit surge protectors to each of my door openers. SIDE NOTE: My 2nd door opener would sometimes not respond to the its remote, and if it did, I had to be right near the door. When I replaced my this unit that I purchased, the 2nd unit started (and continues) to work perfectly. My guess is that there was some interference from the bad unit because the 2nd started acting up as soon as the other unit went bad. However, I have know way of confirming, and it all seems a bit illogical because I don't think they are in any way physically connected; hence the interference theory.
Replace the Circuit Board, not the whole garage door opener!
After reading several posts about garage doors not opening every time and problems with programming the remotes, I figured the circuit board was the problem. It was worth spending approx. $80 for a part rather than $250 for the entire opener system. I wonder how many people have gone through the hassle and time to replace the entire unit rather than just the circuit board. The part was easily replaced according to my husband. I could have done it myself, but we work as a team. The opener was only about 11 years old and nothing wrong with the mechanics. Solved the whole problem since we were able to re-program our opener buttons in our cars and the hand-held remotes. Opens and closes every time now. Great service. No problem receiving the part from the supplier & only took a couple of days if I remember correctly. Thanks.

Universal Garage Door Opener
I needed to be able to open 2 different makes of garage doors at different locations. One is a Genie Opener, the other one a Chamberlain. I didn't like the idea of having a bunch of garage door remotes littering my sun visor, so I thought I'd give this a try. This (and the KLIK1U) were the only remote openers I have determined to work across multiple brands. This particular one looks smaller than the KLIK1U, but the buttons are still big and easy to use. It was very easy to program this remote to both openers, (mine both have the learn button, not the dip switches, but this remote can also apparently be used on the older dip style switch openers as well) and I am extremely happy this one remote works both doors now. If you have lost a remote, this one seems like it will do the trick across most of the major brands, and across an extremely wide variety of Years of Manufacture. Worked for my Overhead Door Python 2
This remote worked for my Overhead Door Python 2 opener. It took some figuring out, because the instructions did not cover my situation. During programming, my garage door opener's light did not blink, it did not click, and the door did not open. So I had cycled through all 20 codes multiple times, and I was getting ready to give up and return this. But then I decided to try locking it in after 6 code presses (the number specified for my manufacturer) and hitting Open anyway, just to see if it would open the door, despite the lack of the aforementioned indications of success. Bingo, it opened. Good enough. They should add that to the instruction manual - one star deducted for mediocre process documentation. If I could take off a half star instead, I probably would. It was a one-time inconvenience/time-waste, but worth mentioning.

Regarding range: I do not find that its range is any less than my original remote transmitter. I have to have line of sight to the...
Transmitter is way too weak
This remote was easy to set up, but it transmits such a weak signal that we have to be very close to the garage door and lean out the car window for it to work.

It acually worked.
Being down to our last remote for our old garage opener, I was beginning to wonder how to get another remote. I got this just for fun, I didn't think it would work, but it was inexpensive enough to try out.

After reading the instructions, I was now absolutely positive it would not work. You have set dip switches (open your current remote and set it to the same dip switch pattern), and press the remote button a certain number of times (in my case 17 times). So here I am, pressing the button 17 times, thinking how stupid this is, but on the 17th press, amazingly the door opened. Of course, after you do this, you only have the press the button once to get it to work, but there seems to be a delay as it runs through your programming again.

Great replacement
We have old Stanley door openers. Stanley is pretty lame that it no longer sells or supports them, so I was looking for a universal remote that could handle 2 doors for our second vehicle. It was a bit involved to program the 10 rocker dip switch, but the following the instructions to the letter worked perfectly. The hardest part was climbing up on a ladder to see the dip switch settings on the openers. The range is good, but not great -- definitely usable. I'm buying a second one for the other car to replace the original bulky one-door opener that came with the Stanley installation.

Works with Craftsman 1/2 HP opener
I have a Craftsman 1/2 HP opener with a manufactured date of 8/2000, and the orange smart learning button. The instructions for this Liftmaster keypad suggest that my opener is type 4 with an opener ID of 2 for programming purposes. When done this way, either the keypad will work with the opener, OR my original remotes will work with the opener, but not both. Clearly that would be unacceptable, so I tried different numbers for the opener ID, and everything worked perfectly after programming the keypad using an opener ID of 4. Perhaps it is a mistake in the instructions, or perhaps there was a running change in my opener model, who knows. The point is, if it doesn't work when programmed with the opener ID specified in the instructions, try the other ID numbers before giving up.

Other than the programming issue, it works fine. I have a newer door with full steel facing front and back, about 1.5" thick overall (IIRC the R value is something like 12.6). Some reviews mentioned...

Works well with Sears Craftsman opener
This device makes a great gift. For about a year now, it has worked flawlessly with our 1994 model Sears Craftsman garage door opener. The directions were good and programming was easy. I was initially concerned about two things: the lettering wearing off the keys we use, and dropping keystrokes which would cause us to have to reenter the code. Neither has been a problem. Although we use it daily, the lettering on the keys has not shown any wear yet. The keypad is good and every keystroke is reliable. I like the backlight feature - easier to see in the dark. The backlight comes on with your first keystroke and turns off automatically.

The one slight complaint I have is that the lid doesn't like to stay up by itself, after several months of use. This requires slightly more coordination for one-handed operation.

Perfect Craftsman Replacement
I needed to replace my vintage 1990 craftsman remote control. I purchased a different manufacturer that was supposedly universal and found out it really was not. This manufacturer/model worked perfectly with my 9 dip switch system. The only odd thing I had to do was to switch DIP switch 1 to the opposite direction. After I did that, it has worked better than my old remotes every did.

Works perfectly
Bought 3 of these, very happy. Sometimes have to press twice to get it to work, but thanks to a previous reviewer, we knew to expect that. Also, a previous reviewer mentioned that they had to switch DIP switch 1 to the opposite direction, and we had to do the same thing. We've used these for about a year and have been very pleased. I'd say we'd buy these again, but I expect these will last for some time. The price and delivery were wonderful.

Simple to install
My garage door sensors, after several years, have failed to work properly. I asked for a repair quote and was told it would cost more than $80 to repair and that was if they ran into no complications. I decided the proposed charges were excessive and chose to change out the sensors myself.

To install, cut the wires from the old sensors and remove from their mount. Save the mounting bolts as none are included with the safety beam sensor kit. Splice the wires and connect to the new sensors using the supplied crimp connectors. Align the sensors using the alignment indicator lights. Then throw away the old sensors.

For me purchasing this lit and spending about 15 minutes in the garage is well worth the savings. If you are a do-it-yourselfer, perhaps this kit is for you too.

It fixed my problem!
My receiving eye LED light was very dim and would go completely off when it got really cold down here in S. Florida, Broward Co. 12/27/10 (36 degrees!)

So what would happen is when I would go to press the wall button to have the garage door go down, it would go down for like 7" then automatically go back up on it's own - and the light would blink 10 times.

So I bought the two replacements, (comes in a kit, with both) that were exact to the original model numbers...

1) I only replaced the receiving eye and the LED light wasn't as bright as the sending eye - and I still had the same problem.

2) I then replaced the sending eye and adjusted them so they can "see" each other, Everything Works Perfect NOW!!!

For me at least - adjusting them was a little tricky, because they are very touchy and must be aligned perfectly.
Just make sure the receiving eye LED light is not fluttering or blinking really fast, because it won't work...

Cheap Liftmaster 41A5034 Garage Door Opener Safety Beam Kit On Sale

The 41A5034 sensors include a pair of sensors(sending and receiving), about 12" of wire attached to each sensor, wire connectors to splice wire into existing wire, mounting screws to mount to brackets, and instructions. If your opener has not had sensors, the 41A5 034 senors can not be installed to your opener.

Very good product. Fixed the problem
This unit was easy to install and fixed my old craftsman garage door opener model 139.53962SRT.
I learned a few tricks in the process

These are some general troubleshooting steps:

1.- Check the wiring first. Be sure wires has not been damaged. With ohm meter check for open circuit or short circuit.
2.-Disconnect the receiver and sender units. They both connect to the same terminals. Terminals 2 and 3 in my opener. Be sure to label the wires to be able to reconnect them later. Measure the voltage in the terminals. It should be around 6 volts DC. Terminal 2 negative. Terminal 3 positive. If there is no voltage the control card in the opener is defective. This kit will not help in that case.
3.- Reconnect the sender unit first. Its LED light should come on. If it does not, the sender is defective. Replace the sender.
4.- If the sender LED comes on, connect the receiver unit. The LED light comes on when it detects infrared light. Point the sender...

Fixed my problem that was due to the sender side
When I was pressing the garage opener, the motor was getting stuck and the bulb would blink 10 times - indicating some perceived obstruction on the safety sensor infrared light beam path. My safety sensor sender side yellow light was on - the receiver side green light was not turning on after multiple tries at alignment. Then I read on one of the reviews that you can use the television remote to check if the receiver is working - right on the green light on the receiver came on. After checking all the wires for loose connection, came to the conclusion that the sender side infrared source might have gone weak.

Got part number from owner's manual. Checked on amazon and came to this product. We got the kit within two days (after paying for the 2 day shipping). I was able to cut and splice in the new sender unit and the door started working immediately after that.
Safety Sensors Beam Kit
I bought this safety beam kit as a replacement for the kit in my Sears garage door opener. The order was delivered on time. Although the sensors were different from the original kit, they perfectly fit as a replacement. The instructions were simple and easy to follow. The task is simple and it took me 5 minuts to complete the job, including the time for the removal of the old sensors whose bots were partially rusted. The new sensors worked perfectlly. The kit came with all the needed items: new bolts with wing nuts and the conectors that were need for splicing the new wires with the old ones. More importent, the sensors cost half the price that was charged by Sears online. Therefore I rate it 5 stars.
